Caution Refund Policy

This Refund Policy is part of our Terms of Service. Capitalised terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms.

Caution SEZC (“Caution”, “we”, “us”) provides infrastructure and Services that consume cloud resources and engineering time as they are used. Because of this, we generally do not offer refunds once fees are incurred, but we will always work with you in good faith if an issue arises.

1. General rule

All fees are non-refundable once charged, including prepaid fees for subscriptions, usage-based charges, and professional services.

If you cancel a subscription, you will retain access until the end of the current billing period, and no pro-rated refund will be issued for the remaining time.

2. Mistakes and billing errors

We may issue credits or refunds at our discretion in clear edge cases, for example:

  • Duplicate or erroneous charges caused by our billing systems.
  • Charges that are clearly inconsistent with your contract or order form (for example, being billed for a tier you did not sign up for).
  • Proven platform defects that caused large, unintended resource consumption.

In these cases, please contact us within 30 days of the invoice date so we can investigate. Requests submitted after 30 days may not be considered. If we agree that an error occurred, we will apply a service credit to your account or, in rare cases, a refund to your original payment method.

3. Chargebacks and payment disputes

If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us at legal@caution.co before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or payment provider. We are committed to resolving billing issues promptly and in good faith.

Initiating a chargeback or dispute without first contacting us may result in suspension of your access to the Services until the dispute is resolved. Caution reserves the right to recover any fees, costs, or losses incurred as a result of a chargeback or dispute that is resolved in our favour.

4. Professional services and deployment fees

Professional services, implementation, and consulting fees are non-refundable, because our team time is allocated and delivered as the engagement progresses.

If we mutually agree to terminate an engagement early, any remaining work will be cancelled and no further fees will accrue, but fees already invoiced remain payable.

5. Trials, free tiers, and proof-of-concepts

When we offer free trials, proof-of-concepts, or promotional credits, these are provided “as is” and have no cash value. Once a trial or credit converts to a paid subscription or usage, the rule in Section 1 applies.

6. How to request a review

If you believe you have been billed in error or there are exceptional circumstances, please contact us at legal@caution.co with:

  • Your company name
  • The invoice(s) in question
  • A brief description of the issue

We will review and respond in a reasonable time frame and may request additional information.
